2012

2011
  • Marine Corps Marathon, Washington DC (10/30/11): 4:00:55 My first marathon.  Miles 0-21 felt great.  My pace dropped significantly over the last 6 miles but I'm satisfied with the result.  It's a confidence builder know I've been the distance when it comes to IM time.  Check out the full recap at Always Earned, Never Given.
  • Giant Acorn International, Bumpass VA (10/1/11):2:37:53 A last minute decision to race here and go for an end of season PR.  Spent the week after 70.3 doing everything I could to help my legs recover.  PR'd (and 1st in AG) on tired legs - good outlook for next year as I age up.
  • Augusta Ironman 70.3, Augusta GA (9/25/11): 5:40:20 I loved everything about this event.  Could have made a better hotel choice but all worked out ok.  The swim here makes you feel golden - it's a straight shot down stream.  Made some rookie mistakes and learned some good lessons all while just missing the podium (by 3 seconds).  Full race recap!
  • The Nation's Triathlon 2011, Washington DC (9/11/11): 1:56:36  Hands down one of my favorite races.  Swim was cancelled but still a great event.  Check out the details and read my race recap.  Podium finish :)
  • Luray Sprint Triathlon, Luray VA (8/14/11): 1:41:58  A short version of the previous days race to complete the "Luray Double".   Podium finish and awesome weekend with my brother.  Check out the full recap
  • Luray International Triathlon, Luray VA (8/13/11): 2:54:13  A very challenging bike course and confusing swim but great views throughout.  Great competition and a battle to the finish.  First time winning my age group, check out the details at my race recap.
  • Rockett's Landing Mid-Atlantic Club Championships, Richmond VA (7/24/11): 2:41:54  A very interesting course, seemed more like an adventure race/obstacle course at some points than a club championship race site.  The river for the swim was a horrible 93 degrees.  The club championship aspect is what made this race cool and a podium finish :).  Check out the full recap here.
  • Stumpy Creek International Triathlon, Mooresville NC (7/16/11): 2:54:48 A good race.  The bike was 27 miles, so a little long compared to most international distance races.  Set a 10k PR and had a good time.  Course never felt crowded and well stocked with water, heed, and cold sponges.  Check out my full race recap.
  • DC Tri Club Training Triathlon, Hains Point Washington, DC (7/10/11): 1:27:22  I had a great race.  Everything came together for this race.  It may have been the club support or just something in the air.  400m swim (7:48) T1 (1:57) 17 Mile Bike (51:55) 3.2 Mile Run (24:52).  Finished 2nd female overall.  Proved to myself I can swim well, must carry this over into open water swims for remainder of season.
  • Tri Latta Sprint Triathlon, Huntersville NC (6/11/11): 1:38:56 A great race that I had to come back to after last year!  Awesome race for beginners as well as Sunday is only for the novices.  Overall happy with my performance and lessons learned and the podium finish.  You can check out all the details on my Race Recap Post.
  • Kinetic Sprint Triathlon, Spotsylvania VA (5/15/2011): 1:43:29  Close enough to home to drive to and make a day out of it.  Finished in the top 2 in my age group.  Good start to the season.  Check out the full recap at my Kinetic Sprint Race Recap Post.
  • 2011 Cherry Blossom 10-miler, Washington DC (4/3/2011): 1:24:13 Great race!  Very large crowd.  I would recommend everyone run this as least once if you live near the area or would like to visit the Cherry Blossoms.  Blossoms were just past peak but still gorgeous.  Ran well enough to move up to the 2nd start wave (behind elites) for next year! More details at Proud.
  • Publix Georgia 1/2 Marathon (3/20/11): 1:56:57: Awesome race!  Great sponsers, volunteers, organizers, and participants!  More info on the race itself on my experience at 13.1 and Done.  Definitely planning on doing more 1/2 marathons - maybe a flat one next!
  • By George 10K, Washington DC (2/19/11): 52:20: Goal was to break 50:00 on this one.  High winds and the out-back, out-back course made it a difficult run.  Small, very affordable race and yummy cherry pies!
  • New Year's Resolution Run, Lake Orion MI (1/1/11): 2nd place F 20-29, 24:52: The weather was unseasonably warm for Jan. 1st in Lake Orion, MI - about 50 degrees!  Had trouble settling on a pace and didn't push too hard.  Not a horrible result for the 1st of the year!

 2010
  • Jingle All the Way 10k, Washington DC (12/12/10): 52:33:  A festive fun race with many friends and my brother in attendance.  Had a late night at the Mt. Vernon estate doing so dancing circa George Washington's era.  Not a horrible performance for starting off a bit slower with the group and just having fun!  Everyone has jingle bells on their shoes!
  • Detroit Turkey Trot 2010 10k, Detroit MI (11/25/10): 51:44: A festive fun race with the whole family in attendance and participating.  Weather was nice for the season and race is huge!  Used 3 separate starting corrals this year to ease congestion (fun, fit, fast).  A family tradition and a must do if you live in the area!
  • Warrior Dash Midatlantic Region, Quarryville PA (10/10/10): 28:30: An obstacle course type race with everything from climbing over tankers to swimming through a freezing pond.  All locations are slightly different distances but seem to be 3-3.5 miles. Got muddy with some awesome friends and had a great time.  Try it out at least once!
  • The Nation's Triathlon 2010, Washington DC (9/12/10): 2:53:10: Swim 1500m:33:52, T1: 4:20, Bike 40km:1:19:13, T2:2:29, Run 10k: 53:18 An awesome triathlon in a great city!  Well organized - everything from volunteers, to pre-race, race, and post-race was awesome!  Can't wait for 2011!  Check out the full race recap here.
  • Culpeper Sprint Triathlon 2010, Culpeper VA (8/1/10): 1:40:18: Check out the full race recap here!

  • Capital Hill Classic 10k, Washington DC (5/16/10): 54:39: A fun 10k around the capital hill area with "the hill" strategically placed between miles 5 and 6!  Had a late flight the evening before, but overall a good experience!
